Did you know that this year is the 52nd Anniversary of Earth Day? It’s grown so much that it has turned into Earth Week in many places. There is no reason to doubt it will continue to grow in the years to come. Tackling such a huge issue can feel daunting, but there are simple ways to make your impact.
Upgrading for the Earth
Our team has been doing our part for the environment. We have continuously worked to upgrade our product packaging to more eco-friendly choices that are in line with our plant rich and nutrient dense skincare line up that celebrates all skin care types through highly effective ingredients that deliver real results.
The changes have been evolving as more sustainable materials become available. Last year, new BPA-Free Eco Tubes made from sustainably farmed cane sugar were introduced to deliver a line of concentrated cleansers. These recyclable tubes give the earth a break from plastic. And, by keeping water and other fillers out of products, we lighten the load when shipping and allow you to avoid buying extra packaging. They are so easy to travel with!
Over the past year, many more transitions occurred to better reflect the potency and purity of our formulas. Sia Botanics scrubs and masks will now also be delivered in the BPA-Free Eco Tubes made from sustainably farmed cane sugar. Our best-selling creams are now in luxurious recyclable glass jars. Our core serums are delivered in porcelain and our collection of corrective skincare serums are made in recycled glass bottles.
In addition to using eco-friendly natural skincare, here are a few ideas for being part of the change:
Take Shorter Showers
Did you know that we can waste water every day without even realizing it? Consider taking shorter showers and fixing any leaky fixtures in your bathroom or kitchen. Drop by drop, our leaks can waste thousands of gallons of water through inefficient plumbing.
Don’t let the money go down the drain. Call your local plumber or learn how to fix a running toilet yourself!
Consider Going Meat-Free
A vegetarian or vegan diet is much better for our environment than one which includes meat, believe it or not, and there are several reasons why this is so. Take a baby step by introducing “Meatless Mondays” into your home.
Unplug Your Devices
One of our easiest Earth Day tips is to simply unplug your electronics when not in use. Devices left plugged in, even when turned off, still consume power, a negligible amount each day, but it adds up over the course of weeks and months.
Plant Trees
One of the best ways to help the Earth, whether on Earth Day or any of the other 364 days of the year, is to plant some trees. Planting trees is an easy way to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and a great way to counter deforestation.
Don’t Stop After Earth Day
Earth Day might be only one day a year, but these Earth Day tips are important to keep in mind each and every day. Try introducing these small changes into your schedule and see how many become a part of your lifestyle. Hopefully by the next Earth Day, we’ll see a difference!
